I haven't done one of these in a loooonnnnggg time. But, it was always a great way to start and focus my week. So, I'm going to try doing them again and see what comes.
FOR TODAY - June 13, 2011
Outside My Window... a beautiful sunrise. The rays of sunlight are filtering through the trees and lighting up the farmhouse and surrounding fields. A fine dew still rests upon the ground and anything outside.
I am thinking... of which project to tackle first and how to accomplish everything that I "feel" needs to be done right away. But, really I'm thinking that God doesn't want me to do it all... and He's going to have to show me the path He wants me to walk.
In the learning room... Things are in summer mode. Noah still has some assignments to complete, but we've put them off until he gets his cast next week and is a bit more comfortable. Eliana finished 1st grade. We are going to redo math and language arts over the summer though, as I really don't feel that she "got" some of the more important concepts necessary to move on. Once we get things situated, we will be working on a relaxed summer schedule. Noah will start 5th grade, Eliana will start 2nd grade, and Tabitha will start kindy. Josiah will just round out the learning by getting into the middle of everything and doing some play work.
I am thankful for... All that the Lord has blessed us with in this new farmhouse. We are busy and worn out. But, it's a good thing. Working hard really feels good.
From the kitchen... the kitchen is quiet as everyone is still sleeping right now. I made Jason some oatmeal for breakfast before he left. And the smell of hot coffee is the only other fragrance wafting from it yet. This week we need to get our mealplan and grocery list together and be prepared.
I am wearing... my robe still. It's time to get a shower once I post this and get everyone up and dressed for the day.
I am creating... a shawl is on the needles right now and another one is lined up next. I also really want to start knitting some soakers and longies for my granddaughter.
I am going... to make this week count. Starting with today. I am going to get up and make breakfast for my husband each day and then spend time in the word before everyone else is up.
I am reading... my bible, some knitting patterns, "Storey's Guide to Raising Chickens", and "Storey's Basic Country Skills".
I am hoping... to get the barn stall fixed up for the chicks and get them moved out there... and to unearth all of my sewing room boxes so that I can start sewing again.
I am hearing... the little peeps from the new chicks that arrived yesterday.
Around the house... are still too many boxes.
One of my favorite things... is the feeling that comes from working hard and knowing that what you've accomplished is good!
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: Fixing up the stall in the barn for the chicks. Finding a trash pickup service and a pest service. Finishing the trim painting in the boys' and girls' rooms. Starting the painting of the Master Bedroom. And, clearing out boxes - either putting the items away... or getting rid of them.
Here is picture thought I am sharing...
Our new feathered farm animals on their first day here.
There are many wonderful Daybooks to be read by others participating in The Simple Woman's Daybook, hosted by Peggy of The Simple Woman!
