FOR TODAY - April 6, 2009
Outside My Window... I see some wisps of blue sky through the rapidly moving clouds in the sky. It's going to be a stormy day outside.
I am thinking... of all the things that need to be accomplished this coming week. I have a rather long "to-do" list.
In the learning room... We are starting Noah's final 2nd grade lifepacs this morning and will finish them this month. We are continuing to watch our Sea Monkeys grow. We are also going to be learning about the care and requirements for puppies in anticipation of our newest member arriving in about 6 weeks.
I am thankful for... a weekend spend playing and having fun with our children outside. It was a lovely weekend and getting fresh air and soaking up the sun was very welcome. It was especially welcome after struggling with the stomach flu for almost two weeks. Little ones with the stomach flu are really a challenge. We rejoice to be over that time and pray that we have an abundance of good health for a long time now.
From the kitchen... I spent part of Saturday cleaning the kitchen. The floor is swept and swiffered. Now, it needs a serious hands and knees scrubbing. I am also working on decluttering the cabinets and countertops. Our new puppy will spend time in the kitchen until he is housebroken. So, I am preparing that now. The tile floor makes for easier cleanup of puppy accidents. I'm also working with Pappy on properly blocking the area off.
I am wearing... Nothing special. Today is a workday and I've got comfortable functional clothing on.
I am creating... I am still working on my February Lady Sweater and enjoying every moment of it. I need to order the buttons today. I've got two diaper orders left and stuff to do still to prepare the store for the Great Cloth Diaper Hunt that is going on in May.
I am going... to visit my pastor's wife, Carla, later this week. We will firm up plans today or tomorrow. Otherwise, I've got plenty to do around here to keep me busy and at home.
I am reading... my bible, some knitting patterns and some marriage counseling materials. I've got a ladies study book waiting on my bedside table that is beconing me.
I am hoping... to get two custom orders finished this week and more of my February Lady Sweater accomplished. I also hope to start on a pair of socks. But, I'm trying to decide if that's really wise yet.
I am hearing... Josiah getting upset that I'm not tending to him yet. The girls are playing nicely (for the moment) in the playroom.
Around the house... I finally got the storage boxes I need to re-organize the Christmas decorations. So, I will be dealing with that this week. We are working on preparing our home for our new puppy. Lots to do and plenty to prepare.
One of my favorite things... is still listening to iPod teachings as I knit or work in the sewing room. A couple of my favorites are Charles Stanley (In Touch) and Nancy Leigh DeMoss (Revive Our Hearts).
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: Knitting and sewing. Ship off Leah's custom order (with extras). Tabitha has speech therapy on Tuesday afternoons from now on.
Here is picture thought I am sharing...
This is a picture of our new puppy, "Ace"... just hours old. He is growing and being nurtured by his mommy and breeders family until mid-May. We've been praying about a dog for a while now. Tabitha lights up when she is around dogs and is very animated. We are hopeful that this will be another tool of therapy for her that helps her communicate with us. And, God really prepared the way for us with this pup. He will be ready to come home with us when we attend a wedding in Minnesota in mid-May... and Minnesota is where this breeder is. Perfect timing.
