Busy busy busy

Pb100012b They are done!  Well, almost.  I have to lanolize and block them.  And, I'm working on the i-cord now.  I should be done with all of that later today.  I need to take care of several wooly laundering needs today anyway.

I also need to get my listing prepped and previewing for MiddayFaire's stocking on Tuesday.  I've got one instock finished and one that will be YP size and closure for the same AIO.  Then, I need to prep and preview my listings for my own cart for later in the week.

I've also got one thing finished for the Black Friday stocking at MiddayFaire and another two items in the works.

I will have to go to the grocery store and then to Costco today to get some much needed foodstuffs.  And,I have a closet to clean out, diaper laundry to do, and baby clothes to start sorting and prepping.  And, of course I have to start seriously thinking about packing my hospital bag(s) soon.

Last, but definitely not least... I'm going to start my swatch for my baby afghan this evening.  I'm really REALLY looking forward to this knitting project and a few that will be thrown in the midst of knitting the afghan.

So, I am praying that my health holds up well today and tomorrow so that I can accomplish these things without any undue consequences.  I have read my Bible and now look forward to a productive day.  Have a great weekend yourself!  Godspeed... ~ Tiffani

Quick update

Jason is feeling much better.  He has a stress test tomorrow morning at the local cardiologist lab and I'm sure we'll know more after that.

I had my followup with the nurse at the endocrinologist office by phone yesterday and that went well.  I am still making changes and will speak with her again on Thursday to check in and see what else I might need to adjust.  So far, proper diet management is the only thing I'm having to worry about.

Other than that, I'm just enjoying some time knitting and resting this week.

I'm off to Walmart to purchase Ratatouille... we'll pick up Shrek3 when it comes out next week.  ;-)

Matters of the Heart...

... Jason drove himself to the hospital ER last night because of some chest pain he's been having ... really since Friday.  He was putting off going to the doc until today because it was under his right arm and had no real rhyme or reason.  But, he was persuaded to change his mind by a friend and coworker.

He is home now and was told he has "atypical chest pain".  He's going to have to go do a stress test at a local cardiologist lab sometime this week.  They don't believe it's his heart, but want to be sure everything IS okay.  They believe it's some sort of muscle spasm or strain.

I cannot begin to tell you how stressful it was to stay home while he went to the hospital.  But, I'm supposed to be on modified bedrest and had already been out of the house all day... and he wanted me home with the children in the morning.  He has been home since right around 3am and is sleeping right now.

I cannot imagine life without him and frankly don't intend to have to anytime soon.  He is my heart... my other half.  We've been married for 20 years and I fully expect at least another 20 more.  I won't even be 37 until February... and he just turned 41.  He needs to exercise and eat right.  I can only pray that this is enough of a motivation for him to make significant changes in his habits.  He doesn't smoke or drink, but some lifestyle habits can be just as bad.

Anyway... gotta run.  The littles are singing that they are hungry and I need to make my own breakfast before I can test my blood sugars again.  And, this little one in my belly says that it's time to eat too.

I'm going to spend today trying to take time to enjoy my family and just relax.  I'll probably manage to get quite a bit of knitting done.

Have an awesome week everyone.. and remember that God didn't promise you tomorrow... or next week... or the next minute.  Trust Him to be Lord of your life and thank Him daily for the blessings in your life.  Without Him... I am nothing.  Godspeed... ~ Tiffani

Woo Hooo!

I got all 6 of my custom AIOs finished on Thursday and shipped out yesterday!  Now, I am free to focus on some instock work and growing this little guy to term.

I've also gotten another 2-3 inches knit of the main body of Eliana's new longies.  It would go quicker if I didn't keep finding things to distract me.  ;-)  But, that's life at the moment... I'm easily distracted.  Mom and I stopped at the local yarn store (LYS) in Winchester yesterday and picked up quite a few new toys.  I've now got a winder and swift... that I need to take out of the boxes and get set up.  Then, we also got a bunch of new yarn.  I got the yarn for a baby afghan that I'm going to start next and a prayer shawl that will be started right after (or perhaps during) the baby afghan.  Mom also picked up some wool for longies for Noah and some yarn for a baby afghan.  We'll be knitting a LOT around here.

As for the endocrinologist appointment yesterday... it went very well actually.  I've got my new glucose monitor for testing and am trying very hard to get into a proper eating and testing routine.  It's going to be challenging... but I didn't expect that it wouldn't be.  And, the endocrinologist really encouraged me to try to manage this through proper diet... he believes that it is possible to stay off of insulin that way.  I'm still supposed to take my glucophage.  I check in with the nurse by phone on Monday... then, I have another appointment with them on Friday the 16th.  I was really trying to get it set up on the same day as my OB appt (that is also out in Fairfax) on the 19th.  But, they couldn't work the schedule at all for that and I'm not about to change my OB appt with Dr. John at this late date.  One day at a time... so far, so good.

Today, I am just enjoying a leisurely day at home with my hubby and children.  I'm getting some good knitting time in, trying to pay the bills, and planning for any upcoming MPB stockings.  It's a restfu day and I'm very glad for that.  Tomorrow will be busy with church and with trying to maintain my proper eating and testing schedule without killing myself or someone else.

Well, if I want to be able to start this afghan or prayer shawl anytime soon, I better get back to the work at hand.  I know that I could cast on for the afghan now and work it along with the longies for Eliana... but, I've committed to finishing one project BEFORE I truly start on another.  We'll see how long I can keep that up.  :-)~
